The National Food Lab is expanding services at its MN location with the addition of descriptive / trained panel sensory and sensory shelf life capabilities. The Sensory Technician is critical to the success of this new service. .
Job Description
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Prepare ingredients, packaging, equipment, and product for routine consumer and/or sensory tests under direct supervision
- Record incoming products, label products, and place samples in appropriate storage locations.
- Serve taste panels ensuring tests are conducted error free
- Label sample cups and prepare serving supplies for panel testing
- Inform supervisor of personnel, facility, and supply needs to accomplish projects and perform essential duties
- Operate necessary equipment as required in assigned projects
- Maintain a clean work environment including assigned product/equipment storage areas.
- Maintain training, project, laboratory, and experimental records
- Comply with appropriate SOPs and methods, and established policies and procedures
- Work as a team with all staff to accomplish position and business objectives
- Interface effectively with clients, consumers, consultants, service providers, and temporary workers
- Ensure that all safety guidelines and procedures are followed as safety of our employees is a primary responsibility
- Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Other tasks as assigned which may include cleaning product/equipment storage areas, shopping, packaging and shipping products to clients or other testing sites
Qualifications
- Minimum of high school diploma or a GED equivalent certificate from a certified institution; one to two years of related work or volunteer experience and/or training. Safe Serve certified a plus.
- Valid Driver’s License and Proof of Insurance
- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

Position is Full-Time, first shift, with additional hours as needed. Candidates currently living in a commutable distance to Plymouth, MN are encouraged to apply.
