Eurofins companies offer a portfolio of over 200,000 analytical methods to evaluate the safety, identity, composition, authenticity, origin, traceability and purity of biological substances and products.In 2021, Eurofins generated total revenues of EUR 6.72 billion, and has been among the best performing stocks in Europe over the past 20 years.Job DescriptionRegular attendance and punctualitySupport clients Manufacturing Scientist and Technology Fermentation Group supporting microbial organisms growth through fermentation and necessary recovery steps to isolate the bacterial products from fermentation brothExecution of lab processes or pilot-scale using various scale platforms (250 mL to 150 L), process development and characterization, scale-up and tech transfer to commercial manufacturing, process simulation and modeling, process troubleshooting, qualification of alternate raw materials and components, new technology development, etcPreparation of fermentation/ cell culture medium, buffer solutions, consumable materials, etc. as needed to support experiment executionUtilizing technical knowledge to identify, troubleshoot, and assist with resolution of process problemsDocument experiment execution using an electronic lab notebook, batch record, and/or protocolsOrganize technical data and provide oral presentations or technical reports to communicate results, as requiredPrioritize and organize work to meet project deadlines and support team goalsWork on second or third shift to support fermentation operations may be required on a frequent basisAbility to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, high energy, and a positive attitudeAbility to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policiesCommunicate effectively with co-workers and client staff membersQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biology, Biochemistry or other science related degree concentrationA minimum of 2 years of industry experience is requiredDirect fermentation product recovery (centrifugation, Ultrafiltration, Depth and Sterile Filtration) and extraction experience (Homogenization, pH titrations)Experience with fermenters at small scale or Pilot Scale in an industry-based setting is requiredExperience with operating and monitoring of fermentation equipment, centrifugation and performing sterile technique is requiredExperience with accurate pipetting and performing serial dilutions is requiredStrong computer, scientific, and organizational skillsExcellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detailAbility to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivated, adaptability, and a positive attitudeAbility to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policiesValid driver’s license and personal transportationAuthorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorshipAdditional Information Position is full-time,  Monday- Friday 8:00 AM- 5:00 PM overtime as neededCandidates currently living within a commutable distance of Sanford, NC are encouraged to apply.Excellent full-time benefits including comprehensive medical coverage, dental, and vision optionsLife and disability insurance401(k) with company matchPaid vacation and holidays#LI-EB1Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorshipEurofins is a M/F, Disabled, and Veteran Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action employer.
