About the Role
We are looking to hire a Program Coordinator to work in our Memberships group. The Program Coordinator will help program and run two different events series for executives in the asset management business, one for traders (both equity and fixed income) and the other for chief technology officers. The Program Coordinator will regularly speak with the most senior and sophisticated institutional investment managers in North America and around the world; reflect their interests in event agenda content; and help manage and produce survey research.
The two Memberships that the Program Coordinator will support are:
-
Financial Technology Forum, bringing together more than 50 IT leaders at North American investment organizations. FTF explores how asset managers apply technology to every aspect of the investment business, from the front office to sales and client service, compliance and the back office. This membership includes events focusing on AI and the investment process, and on data management.
TraderForum, a membership group for the buyside traders who strive to find liquidity and minimize execution costs for institutional equity and fixed income portfolios at asset management firms around the globe. Working with this event series involves heavy interaction not only with buyside traders, but also their brokers, exchanges and trading system vendors, as well as buy- and sellside participants in the rapidly automating fixed income markets.
Supported by a team of investor relations, client service and logistics professionals and reporting into and working very closely with the Executive Director of these business units, the ideal candidate would have a basic understanding of asset management and capital markets and will demonstrate outstanding client-facing, oral communication and writing skills. This role is not suitable for candidates looking for a highly analytical role.
This critical role will be responsible for:
-
Day-to-day management of two asset management event and business intelligence series including administration and collaborating with the investor relations, client and logistics functions.
-
Writing the content and formatting the structure for approximately 10 annual physical and digital events, primarily in North America but possibly in Europe or Asia.
-
Meeting and speaking in person and via video conference with potential delegates and speakers, both buyside and sellside, regularly to generate event content.
-
Creating questionnaires and tabulating results for survey research projects of varying length and complexity.
-
Managing client communications strategy with client coordinator.
Requirements:
-
Intellectual curiosity: You aren’t afraid of difficult concepts and are willing to ask strangers what might seem basic questions.
-
Writing skills: You write correct, concise and persuasive copy.
-
Creative and critical thinking skills to analyze survey data to uncover insights
-
You enjoy meeting new people as much as encountering new ideas.
-
Ability to manage a complex workload, and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines.
-
Exceptional organizational skills, a superior work ethic and extreme attention to detail.
-
Robust project management skills that include an ability to meet deadlines and to manage team members in doing so.
-
Prior experience as a financial journalist, or PR or marketing at an asset manager, broker or systems vendor (or an agency serving such clients) or as a junior events programmer for investments or capital markets audiences.
-
Regular travel in North America and internationally
We offer a competitive salary and additional company benefits:
-
Flexibility to work in person, hybrid or remote
-
Medical, dental and vision coverage
-
401k retirement plan
