This position is on-site in our Elk Grove Village, IL location.
Position Summary: Opening for an Adhesive Chemist based in the Elk Grove Village, IL area. Opportunities for involvement in the development and servicing of multiple product lines. Position responsibilities include product development, technical service, production support, regulatory and quality control as needed.
Qualifications
· Ability to complete technical service work through the evaluation of adhesive samples, and communicate findings clearly and timely to sales department
· Demonstrated capability of product development success given an application and customer specifics
· Experience in formulation and analysis of packaging adhesives
· History of success working cross-functionally with operations, customer service, and sales teams
· Basic understanding of standard quality control procedures used in packaging adhesives analysis
· Familiarity with typical regulatory, environmental, safety and HazCom regulations applicable to adhesives
· Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
· Relevant industry experience and/or degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, Materials Science or related field
Position Duties
· Ensure timely, accurate reporting of lab results
· Maintain laboratory equipment and facility in a safe and working condition
· Utilize project request system
· Effectively communicate with internal and external customers
· Support R&D projects as needed
· Provide problem solving expertise to quality, sales and operations
· Efficiently manage capital as needed to maintain and expand lab capabilities
· Maintain a broad knowledge of technology related to adhesive products and manufacturing capabilities
· Maintain strong communication and relationships with Evans customers and suppliers
· Independently complete projects for Technical Service
· Ability to complete water based adhesive QC tasks on an as needed basis
