Who we are:

The Post and Courier

Founded in 1803, The Post and Courier is the oldest newspaper in the South, the second oldest in the United States and the largest in South Carolina with more than 90 journalists on staff. With many honors and accolades to its credit, the newspaper has garnered the highest awards in journalism often besting much larger media conglomerates including two Pulitzer Prizes.

In 1896, Lowcountry Rice Planter Arthur Middleton acquired the newspaper and it has remained a family-owned, independently held media company ever since. In the 1990s The Post and Couriers parent company Evening Post Publishing, Inc. began purchasing community newspapers across the state of South Carolina which laid the groundwork for a unified state-wide media company.

In 2021, The Post and Courier split from its parent company and along with the community papers formed Evening Post Publishing Newspaper Group.

The cornerstone of every newspaper we own is a dedication to transparent, engaging and solutions-based journalism written by experienced reporters who live and work in the communities they serve.

Aiken Standard – originally established in 1867 and purchased by Evening Post Publishing, Inc. in 1968, the daily newspaper also publishes the North Augusta Star recently rebranded as The Post and Courier North Augusta and serves as printer to 20 additional newspapers in the region.

Summerville Journal Scene with roots dating back to 1946 the newspaper focuses on hyper-local community news in Dorchester County and publishes on Wednesdays.

The Gazette is freely distributed weekly to more than 11,000 locations in the cities of Goose Creek and Hanahan with a strong emphasis on local content written by local writers.

The Berkeley Independent primarily serves Moncks Corner and surrounding Berkeley County communities and is published on Wednesdays featuring live news, business, sports and local reporting. This newspaper has history too that we might want to mention the year.

Moultrie News has served the East Cooper community since 1964. The trained and dedicated professionals of the newspaper work tirelessly to provide quality informative reporting on local events with knowledge, perspective and compassion.

Free Times – a progressive, alternative weekly publication covering news, politics, arts and entertainment in Columbia, S.C., since 1987.

Georgetown Times with roots dating back to 1798 the newspaper is one of the oldest weekly newspapers in the U.S., it was purchased in 1973 by Evening Post Publishing, Inc. and continues to serve the people of Georgetown County with relevant and engaging community news.

Kingstree News – offers breaking news, crime alerts, sports, weather and opinion weekly and has served Kingstree and Williamsburg County since 1972.

The Star Established in 1954 in North Augusta, the weekly newspaper is known as the keeper of North Augusta history and champion of things that make the community a better place to live, covering local news, business and sports.

What you will do:

Prepress Manager is responsible for managing the sales processes for Digital print Shop Operations and overseeing prepress operations.

Job Duties:

• Manage Commercial Print Department
• Manage the Prepress Team and Digital Print Operations
• Manage the print vendors including ordering and receiving outside print products
• Manage approval of commercial print vendor billing
• Handle accounts receivables, aging and setting up of new commercial print clients
• Facilitate all deliverables for all commercial print and job shop
• Manage sticky note process; ordering for production and directing production.
• Ordering outside vendor print products for P&D, custom items and sticky notes
• Oversee print production schedule for Special Section and special print initiatives
• Budget and expense management
• Effectively communicate with managers, support staff, epprinting, and all other departments as necessary to ensure customers expectations are exceeded
• Perform other duties as assigned by management
