Eventide Heartland in Devils Lake, ND is currently seeking a full time Child Care Worker to work at the Heartland Child Care Center. This position works 5:45a - 3:00p and includes every other weekend and holiday rotation.

The Child Care Worker provides high-quality and safe child care to the children of the Center in accordance with current local, state, and federal standards, guidelines, and regulations as well as the philosophy, policies, and procedures of Eventide. Ensures that the children have a warm, welcoming, and safe space to play and learn. Responsible for looking after the physical, emotional, and intellectual needs of the children.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Plans, supervises, and conducts daily activities in the child care center with guidance from the Child Care Director.
- Informs parents of scheduled activities and communicates with parents about the individual needs of each child, including any special concerns the parents may have.
- Monitors child play and behavior and tends to individual child needs as they arise.
- Maintains cleanliness and neatness of the Center: sanitizes toys and play equipment; organizes and stores toys and materials to ensure order in activity areas; performs general housekeeping duties in rooms.
- Serves snacks, meals, and drinks, in accordance with each child’s needs and preferences. Feeds infants in accordance with their feeding schedule.
- Reads to children and teaches basic arts and crafts skills relating to both scheduled and unscheduled activities.
- Encourages children’s emotional, social, and physical development, and positive self-concept.
- Instructs children in health and personal habits such as eating, napping, dressing, and bathroom breaks.
- Responsible for completion of daily sheets to send schedule documentation home with children.
- Administers medications per instruction and protocol and properly documents on the medication sheet.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- CPR/ First Aid/ AED certification within 90 days of employment required.
- 16-hour Child Care orientation upon hire.
- 15-hour Getting Started course upon hire.
