If you are passionate about pushing the frontier of catastrophe modeling with the latest developments across multiple hot disciplines (including climate science, data science, insurtech), this is the job for you. Responsibilities include but not limited to: Design global catastrophe modeling workflow that is efficient, effective, and scalable, to provide Underwriting with accurate and timely catastrophe risk pricing assessment Support local cat modeling counterparts to implement global cat modeling workflow, adjust as needed to adapt to local business needs Improve all aspects of cat modeling workflow, including: Data intake: cleansing and augmentation Cat modeling techniques Model output: presents relevant output to Underwriting in an easy-to-understand manner Select and manage 3rd party vendors who provide cat modeling services for Everest Insurance Qualifications, Education & Experience: 10-15 years of cat modeling experiences using AIR Touchstone, with a focus on Commercial products (e.g. Property, Construction, Inland marine, Energy) Bachelor’s degree in STEM majors, finance, economics, or business. Knowledge, Skills & Competencies: Expert knowledge in cat modeling techniques Proficient in SQL and Python, or other languages to automate data processes across multiple enterprise products Detail-oriented with superb analytical skills Solution-seeker who is excited about a hard-to-solve challenge Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience explaining complex technical and analytical concepts to colleagues and senior management. Quick learner able to apply learnings from other disciplines quickly Passion to make an impact, to learn, experiment, and grow within the organization For NYC Only: The base salary range for this position is $160,000-$230,000 annually.
