For jobs with more than one level, the posted range reflects the minimum of the lowest level and the maximum of the highest level. Job Summary:
Responsible for clerical and reception functions and facilitating communication on assigned units.
Primary Duties:
- Provides customer service to patients, families and the cross-functional team.
- Facilitates communications - scheduling, coverage of telephones and nurse call systems.
- Maintains patient records, CPOE and unit census records on a daily basis.
- Coordinates admissions, transfers and discharges to the Charge Nurse and appropriate departments.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
License, Certification, Education or Experience
REQUIRED for the position:
- High School graduation or equivalent
- Must possess oral and written skills to efficiently communicate and process information regarding patients.
DESIRED for the position:
- 1 year of related experience in a similar setting
- Completion of a medical terminology course and/or a Health Unit Coordinator course.
