02 / 22 / 2024 Locations Westborough-MA; Berlin-CT The Customer Thermal Solutions Team within Gas Operations is looking for a student to join their team for a cooperative learning experience.

This position supports Customer Thermal Solutions Team by observing and participating in assignments with guidance from a Customer Thermal Solutions Team member.

The Co-Op will be partnered with the team to assist in facilitating prospects requests for new natural gas service or other thermal options.

The Customer Thermal Solutions Team within Gas Operations is looking for a student to join their team for a cooperative learning experience.

This position supports Customer Thermal Solutions Team by observing and participating in assignments with guidance from a Customer Thermal Solutions Team member.

The Co-Op will be partnered with the team to assist in facilitating prospects requests for new natural gas service or other thermal options.

Co-ops will assist the group in the following duties :

Gains an understanding of new construction, conversions and load addition projects including main extensions and processing of new business requests, including : Estimating consumption and revenues for commercial and residential single family, sub-divisions, and condominium and apartment complexes.

Interfacing and building relationships with architects, engineers and building managers to clarify loads and scope of projects.

Obtain and evaluate site plans.Preparing customers’ gas requests and forward to construction engineers for installation costs and requirements.

Create load sheets and update systems with customer and rate information.Running financial model to determine project profitability.

Negotiating customer requirements including customer digging, backfilling and Contribution In Aid of Construction (CIAC).

Working with Legal on language and provisions for non-standard contracts.Advising customers on the availability, benefits, application, pricing options and service installation procedures for natural gas or other thermal options.

• Develops and / or reviews process modifications with Customer Thermal Solutions.
• Gains knowledge of Customer Thermal Solutions processes and related supporting activities that include communication, engineering, planning, scheduling, construction, and metering.
• Assists in developing and / or reviewing project economic justifications as necessary to support projects.
• Attends department meetings

Requirements :

• Strong Interpersonal communication skills & attention to detail
• Strong organizational skills
• MS Office skills; Word, Excel & PowerPoint
• Student should be working towards a degree in Business, Project Management, Construction, or Engineering.
