The Role
The Facilities' Mechanical Technician will play a pivotal role in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing the mechanical systems and equipment in our pilot plant. This individual will work closely with our production and R&D teams to ensure the seamless operation of our facility.
What you’ll accomplish:
- Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair mechanical issues with a variety of equipment, including bioreactors, centrifuges, filtration systems, dryers, and other related equipment.
- Preventative Maintenance: Develop and implement a preventative maintenance schedule for all equipment to minimize downtime and ensure longevity.
- Equipment Installation: Assist with the installation of new equipment, ensuring it meets safety and operational standards.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and modifications.
- Technical Expertise: Serve as the go-to technical person for troubleshooting, operations, service, and repair of manufacturing equipment.
- Building Systems Knowledge: Understand and inspect various systems within the facility, including AC, cooling water chiller, compressed air, electrical installations, and clean rooms. Use state and local building code knowledge and promptly advise management of any issues or concerns.
- Vendor Coordination: Manage and oversee outside vendor services, ensuring tasks are properly completed. Coordinate with logistics for regular pick-up of spare parts and consumables to ensure maximum uptime.
- Continuous Improvement: Recommend improvements to equipment and processes to increase efficiency and safety.
- Collaboration: Work closely with production, R&D, and external vendors to ensure equipment meets operational requirements.
What you bring (required)
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a manufacturing or production environment, preferably in the food or biotech industry.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and equipment commonly used in alternative protein production.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in a manufacturing setting.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

Pay Range: $35.00/hr - $45.00/hr
