What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Technology position at Everyware®?

The Director of Technology is responsible for leading the engineering team in the development and delivery of innovative products and services. This role requires a deep understanding of engineering principles and practices, as well as the ability to manage and motivate a team of engineers. The Director of Technology will also be responsible for setting the technical vision for the company and ensuring that the engineering team is aligned with the company's overall goals. 

 

The candidate will be able to work well under pressure, help to create and maintain timelines for key initiatives, manage a diverse team, and keep a calm and steady control over process flows. 

  

Responsibilities: 

 

  • Lead the engineering team in the development and delivery of innovative products and services. 

  • Day-to-day operations and team management for the Technology Department 

  • Manage and motivate a team of engineers. 

  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders. 

  • Set and track engineering goals and metrics. 

  • Ensure that the engineering team is following best practices. 

  • Stay up-to-date on the latest engineering trends and technologies. 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field. 

  • 6 years of experience in development and engineering leadership roles. 

  • Sound knowledge of IT systems, specifications, networks and computer systems – especially cloud based architectures. 

  • Strong understanding of AWS platform (including EC2, RDS and Lambda) 

  • Strong understanding of the Github ecosystem 

  • Problem-solving skills and an analytical mindset, with expert project management and organizational skills. 

  • Proven track record of success in delivering innovative products and services. 

  • Strong technical skills and knowledge of engineering principles and practices. 

  • Excellent leadership, management, and communication skills. 

  • Ability to communicate to tech-savvy and non-technical staff. 

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 

  • Proficiency in forecasting, budgeting and strategic use of employee resources.
