eVigilant is currently seeking a full time Project Manager with strong technical skills to work with our team in our Manassas VA office with a variety of tasks associated with Electronic Security Systems projects. Project Manager will lead efforts on new and ongoing projects for various customers located nationwide. He/she is responsible for providing regular project communications, both internally and externally to the appropriate stakeholders so that projects are delivered on time and within budget. The Project Manager provides a single point of contact to clients for resolution of project and operational issues, and performs periodic project and program reviews, making recommendations for improvement and overseeing the implementation of those recommendations. The Project Manager actively participates in sequencing projects, adjusting timelines, and modifying scope documents to achieve Program objectives.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform overall project administration, organization, and implementation of multiple small to large Electronic Security Systems projects.
- Managing all phases of a project lifecycle, including material procurement, resource allocation, installation, and close.
- Manage the preparation of project documentation, including project requirements, manpower requirements, project layout, project schedules, detailed equipment plans and field office support.
- Coordinating and leading a project kick-off and weekly progress status meetings both internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage the scheduling and coordination of resources on the project to maintain the baseline project schedule.
- Develop baseline vs actual reporting of resources, as required.
- Attending and executing site surveys, projected costs, forecasts, and progress reports, as required.
- Manage the collection of daily progress data of both self-performed and contractor performed work.
- Observing and measuring KPI’s for project performance against the project plan to ensure that the project is within acceptable variances of cost, budget, schedule, and scope.
- Drive the development and maintenance of project artifacts, including shop drawings that are required to ensure effective short-term and long-term staffing success for the project.
- Coordinate the acquisition of all materials and monitor tool and equipment requirements with project leadership and the warehouse, as required.
- Coordinate and manage all project inspections with the customers, and ensure they are completed in a timely manner to support project schedule and closeout.
- Work with eVigilant leadership, staff, and other resources that are assigned to the project to identify matters, such as work procedures, complaints, and other related problems.
- Review and maintain an updated project schedule for all stakeholders and assigned personnel.
- Managing the integration of data from multiple company systems and analyzing the data to draw insights on project progress.
- Assure timely completion of project punch-list items, the submittal of accurate as-built drawings, operation and maintenance manuals, and the completion of training materials.
- Identify opportunities for cost-saving measures, quality improvements, lessons learned, and best practices.
- Maintain a positive relationship with other project leadership, including supervisors, superintendents, foremen, crew leaders and/or other project personnel, to achieve project milestones and overall project success.
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years total combined work experience as a project manager, deputy project manager, assistant project manager, project coordinator, operations manager, etc.
- Must be willing to travel up to 25%
- Must be able to pass USG security screening process.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2 years of (Hands on Work, Schooling or Military) experience in Electronic Security Systems (ESS).
- Experience with government contracts preferred.
- Strong knowledge of finance systems as it relates to project budgets and cost codes.
- Understanding of earned value analysis as it relates to project management.
- Proficiency in the use of automated cost/schedule management systems.
- Skill in Physical Electronic Security, or Construction, or Electrical.
- Professional certification in project management and safety is preferred.
- Must be able to work independently and able to manage multiple projects at once.
- Strong verbal and written skills with the ability to communicate and listen to customer needs.
- A proven track record of safe, timely and successful completion of projects.
- Outstanding planning and scheduling skills (using MS Project, excel, word or equivalent).
- Understanding of critical path analysis of project and resource requirements to identify potential project risks and plan for risk mitigation strategies.
- A high sensitivity to the Client’s needs and expectations.
- A demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all involved parties (Client, A/E, contractors, and team members).
- Some knowledge of installation processes and materials used in installation of Access Control Systems, Intrusion Detection System and Video Management Systems.
- Ability to create technical documentation, including design documents and reference libraries.
- Must exhibit good team building, mentoring, and leadership skills.
