You are:
- A Director of Business Development with a basic understanding of general contracting (or similar), who oversees the cultivation of professional relationships with future clients within multifamily, HOA, senior and student housing, and industrial/commercial sectors across the designated region, leading to bid opportunities in local markets. You have a strong business acumen. This position offers a high degree of autonomy and requires an entrepreneurial mindset with cross-functional communication both internally and externally, but with a team-first approach. Your strength is engaging and influencing various decision-makers. This is an independent contributor role.
Responsibilities:
- Develops and maintains relationships with key customers through targeted marketing campaigns
- Develops presentations for key customers, collaboratively, with various departments and partners when appropriate
- Identifies and represents in national and regional trade shows and/or events focused on
targeted market segments
- Works collaboratively with internal departments to develop marketing strategies and materials that will positively promote the company and enhance brand perception
- Creates and updates sales opportunity information in CRM as defined by leadership
- Works collaboratively with managers in adjacent markets to develop market-specific strategies and budgets
- Responsible for tracking and operating within a defined budget for lead generation, customer relations, event sponsorship/participation, marketing materials, and advertising
- Builds trust and teamwork between the various roles within internal operations and external clientele
- Collaborates with Client Relationship Team or Account Managers to provide well-researched information to ensure a smooth customer experience
- Ensures KPI goals are met as defined by Leadership
- Plays a key role in the project transition meetings in tandem with the operations team
- Provides superior customer service both internally and externally
- Performs additional duties as needed and as assigned by supervisor and/or management
Qualifications:
- Associate’s Degree (Bachelor’s preferred) in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience is considered.
- Three years’ experience in a similar position
- Ability to travel frequently, including overnight, is required primarily in Central and Southern Ohio regions, expanding south-bound.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate upwardly to top management
- Ability to effectively collaborate with teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage multiple initiatives
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written is required
- Must be self-directed and motivated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Work schedule flexibility, with or without notice, to accommodate the needs of the business
