What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Director position at Executech?

As the IT Director, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the technical infrastructure, support and operations for our clients and internal teams in the PNW. Your primary objective will be to ensure the smooth and efficient functioning of all technical systems and processes, and to drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational effectiveness. You will lead a team of technical professionals and collaborate with cross-functional departments to align technical operations with overall business objectives for our clients and internal structures. The IT Director plays a critical role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of an organization's technical infrastructure. By overseeing operations, leading teams, and implementing best practices, you will contribute to the success of the organization, its technological capabilities and customer loyalty/satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. Technical Infrastructure Management:

· Develop and implement strategies for the design, deployment, and maintenance of technical infrastructure, including networks, servers, storage systems, and cloud platforms.

· Ensure high availability, scalability, and security of technical systems to meet business requirements.

· Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends, and evaluate their potential for improving operational efficiency.

2. Operations Management:

· Establish and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) to streamline technical operations and ensure consistent performance.

· Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and lead resolution efforts to minimize downtime and disruptions.

· Implement disaster recovery plans and procedures to safeguard critical data and systems.

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define operational metrics, track performance, and implement improvements as needed.

3. Team Leadership:

· Recruit, train, mentor, and motivate a team of technical professionals, providing guidance and support in their career development.

· Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment, promoting knowledge sharing and cross-functional collaboration.

· Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and address performance issues in a timely manner.

4. Vendor and Budget Management:

· Evaluate and select vendors and service providers, and manage vendor relationships to ensure effective delivery of technical services.

· Develop and manage the technical operations budget, tracking expenditures, and identifying cost optimization opportunities.

5. Compliance and Security:

· Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, industry standards, and best practices in data privacy, security, and disaster recovery.

· Implement and maintain robust security measures to protect the organization's technical infrastructure and sensitive information.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred; OR equivalent work experience (8 years) in technical operations, infrastructure management, or a similar role.

· Experience and comfort in communicating and negotiating with C-Level Executives. The ability to “speak IT” to end users that may not “speak IT” (This is a client facing position).

· Your teams will often be deployed at client sites, and you may be required to as well

· Strong knowledge of network architecture, cloud computing, data center operations, and IT security.

· Experience with virtualization technologies, enterprise storage systems, and network protocols.

· Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.

· Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on driving continuous improvement.

· Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and senior management.

· Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, CCNA, CISSP) are a plus.

· Experience working in a MSP or solutions provider environment or a consulting background is highly preferred

*Salary Range for this role: $120,000 to $150,000*

 

Typical Working Environment:

Work in a temperature-controlled office environment

Low to Moderate noise levels consistent within an office environment; staff, phones, collaborative dialogue

Physical Demands:

Constantly talk, hear, sit, use keyboard/ten key, fine dexterity with hands and repetitive hand motion.

Frequently lift and carry up to 20 lbs., push/pull up to 20lbs, reach outward, walk-normal surfaces, grasp, and hold.

Occasionally lift and carry between to 21-50lbs., push/pull between 21-50lbs, reach overhead, kneel, climb, and stand.

Rarely lift and carry 51 lbs., push/pull 51 lbs., squat, crawl, walk-slippery surfaces, walk-uneven surfaces, and bend.

 

Hours of Work:

This is a full-time/Hybrid position. (Office is located in Ballard)

Typical work hours are Monday – Friday 8am to 5pm

Hours may vary to meet the needs of clients and business operations. This may include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Salary : $120,000 - $150,000
