Executive Director
CLIENT ASSOCIATION: Executive Director, Inc.
POSITION(S) REPORTS TO: Consulting Partner
POSITION(S) THAT REPORT TO YOU: Two Manager Positions
GENERAL SUMMARY: The Executive Director is responsible for oversight and development of an international association. This includes, but is not limited to, implementation of Advisory Boards, Committees and Councils, Fundraising and Board of Directors actions and policies.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: (Minimum of 37.5 hours/week)
- Direct liaison with the president of the Organization.
- Direct liaison with the Board of Directors.
- Responsible fundraising activities for the Congress and other programs of the Organization.
- Responsible for producing agenda materials for the meetings of the Board of Directors.
- Responsible for producing minutes of the meetings of the Board of Directors.
- Responsible for overall oversight of all Programs, Councils and Committee.
- Liaison to the standing committees of the Organization.
- Liaison to the ad hoc committees of the Organization.
- Coordinate communication of all staff members.
- Work with volunteer leadership to establish committee structure and function.
AMOUNT OF TRAVEL REQUIRED: (total weeks per year):
Up to six weeks per year. International travel required, including some weekend and evening work.
EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Bachelor degree preferred.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Excellent oral, written and electronic communication skills, including Internet and web site experience required. Must have the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Five years of management or association experience preferred. Experience working with non-profit boards preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (example - lifting, packaging, etc.):
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
DECISION MAKING AUTHORITY (budgets, projects, programs, vendors, etc.):
Sign-off authority on projects as determined by president and consulting partner.
