What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Support Technician position at Exemplar ITS?
Job Description:
· 1200 End points on the network are not getting patched.
· Ability to interpret and execute tasks using technical instructions.
· Work with end users to survey existing patches and files for upgrade to latest levels.
· Knowledge of Active Directory users and Computers.
· Ability to troubleshoot problems arising from Linux OS layer.
· Clearly report issues to owner / end user computer owner for resolution.
· Ability to install updates post communications are received to publish and advertise the patches via the tool used in the ITSM and escalate install issues as needed.
· Good customer services skills (Soft skills). Good time management skills.
· Works with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
· Linux servers are non-COMPLIANT TO BE PATCHED.
· 615 servers not in patch process (Not In BigFix).
· 238 in BigFix but require manual intervention.
· Open tickets with helpdesk for resolution.
· Own the RHEL patch management & keep the standardization levels current.
· Help in the IT group objective to assist in collecting data and removing obstacles & organizing causal data.
· Chase the owners for any aberration in the patch mismatch or base lining issues.
· Communicate issues with patch management to NEE managers and assist in the mitigation plans.
