Swim Team Coach

We're seeking a Swim Team Coach to join our team! As our new Swim Team Coach you will:

• Coach adults and children in recreational swimming leagues, meets, and groups

• Coach 5-15 hours weekly

• Be the inspirational leader of the each swimming group to ensure the highest level of member engagement

• Create practice plans

• Be involved in an ongoing program and evaluation process to determine the relevancy of existing programs and the development of new offerings

• Take lead on hosting swim meets during competition season

• Communicate with participants and parents via email and phone call.

• Lead marketing efforts to grow the program such as attending other programmatic events or visiting other programs within the building to share our Swim Programs

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

• Scheduling of inter-league meets

• Planning of member engagement events such as open water swim, swim team awards banquet, and any extra event associated with Swim Team

• Working with the Assistant Aquatics Manager to assure appropriate coverage during all operating hours

• Work collaboratively with other coaches to ensure philosophy and engagement are aligned

• Order necessary supplies for programmatic needs including uniforms, swim caps, and awards.

• Other duties as assigned

The Ideal Candidate will have:

• Current Red Cross Lifeguard certification (AED, CPR, First Aid) or Coaches Water Safety and AED/CPR and First Aid

• Strong background in competitive swimming

• Excellent verbal and communication skills

• Strong service orientation and attitude; the ability to provide members, guests and staff with exceptional service in a friendly and professional manner

• Superior communication skills

• Ability to relate to diverse populations

• Enthusiastic, responsible and team-oriented

Physical Requirements:

• Exposure to variety of weather elements

• Requires long periods of standing

• Moderate use of computer terminal screen, right or left hand use, Typing

• Grasping and gripping movements

• Ability to lift 50 lbs. Some lifting may require additional assistance from another staff person

• Employee expected to use discretionary judgment and ask for assistance from another employee if an item is perceived to be too heavy to lift without assistance

• Use of personal safety equipment required

• Frequent use of pool and cleaning chemicals

• Continuous exposure to moderate to loud noise

• Occasional exposure to bodily fluids

• Occasional lifting, pulling, climbing, kneeling, and bending
