The Project Manager – Site/Civil will be expected to take on a leadership role within the engineering team to provide engineering and design services to clients and will coordinate with engineers, project managers, clients and other disciplines to deliver on schedule and on budget projects. Train and mentor junior staff as well as manage workload for the team. Lead engineering and production team through the planning and design of civil engineering projects

- Manage an engineering team
- Manage internal and external client relationships for both new and existing clients
- Identify, research, and qualify pursuits and upcoming projects for go/no go potential and then direct and lead submittals in response to appropriate pursuits
- Lead and manage current project teams from bid until completion, while looking to obtain future business and performing own project duties
- Supervise and manage the overall direction and work products of an engineering team, including hiring, training, utilization and other daily functions
- Engage, mentor, and motivate junior staff through counsel, goal setting guidance, knowledge transfer and goal setting
- Plan, schedule and coordinate the preparation of documents or activities for multiple simultaneous projects
- Provide quality oversight and reviews of design and calculations performed by staff.
- Serve as the lead Project Manager on significant or complex projects
- Assist in developing processes and provide input on achieving company and office operational excellence while growing a practice
- Review project changes, pending or anticipated alterations to the contract, additional work requests, and all other factors, which may significantly affect staffing requirements or budget
- Provide technical assistance in the resolution of design problems including field investigation or inspections, detailed design work, detailed review of design computations done by others and general coordination of design aspects
- Act as a technical specialist for the organization in the application of advanced concepts, principles, and methods in an assigned area and
- Represent the organization in the community and appropriate professional societies.
The Skills and Knowledge You Bring
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of ten (10) years engineering or related land development experience to include a minimum of five (5) years managing multiple complex large scale land development projects (commercial, residential, municipal).
- Licensed Professional Engineer.
- Must have demonstrated technical experience with a wide range of civil projects and experience serving clients.
- A proven track record of innovation, leadership, and creativity.
- Demonstrated project management and communication skills.
- Experienced with processing land development projects in relevant counties/municipalities.
- Thorough understanding of municipal codes and regulations.
- Thorough understanding of business and financial principles in a consulting business.
- Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to lead and develop an engineering and project management team.
- Experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D design software.
- Proficient technical and computer skills, to include successfully conducting virtual meetings with staff and/or clients.
