Your work environment at EXP
In this role, you will be a part of the Infrastructure Division, of the Mid Atlantic Sector, and have the opportunity to work on a wide-range of projects involving safety studies, multi-modal roadway planning, highway design, transit design, and design reviews.
What a day at EXP has in store for you
- Perform and lead engineering design tasks for roadway and highway projects from conceptual design to final design.
- Develop civil design of multi-modal transportation projects per AASHTO and applicable design standards.
- Develop plans, specifications, quantities, and cost estimates.
- Prepare final bid packages, design-build packages, and bridging documents.
- Possess excellent in-depth knowledge of roadway design software tools including MicroStation.
- Mentor and develop new engineers in transportation and highway design.
- Lead and coordinate design activities between staff, subcontractors, and clients
- Perform technical analyses and reviews of infrastructure projects.
- Manage day-to-day activities of projects including interagency coordination, technical review, and other related activities.
- Support and perform project management functions to ensure projects meet the defined schedules, cost estimates, and performance/technical measures and specifications. This includes development of Project Management Plans, Scopes of Work, Cost Estimates, and other project management related activities.
- Assists in preparing reports, plans, and studies.
- Assists in developing proposals, presentations, and reports.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
What your experience looks like
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- In depth knowledge of MicroStation and OpenRoads.
- Minimum 5 years of experience.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required in VA, DC or MD.
- Experience with DDOT, VDOT, and/or MDSHA standards and projects.
- Strong technical design background in roadway design and transportation engineering.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills.
- Basic knowledge of MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
The pay range for this role is $100,000 to $145,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
