Position Summary:
Experis is seeking a Sr BI Developer on behalf of a client in the Boise, ID area. This will start as a 12 month opportunity and will allow 100% remote work. The Senior BI Developer is a senior-level Business Intelligence practitioner on our collaborative software development team. The role is responsible for understanding the data consuming needs of our business partners and delivering on them by building sophisticated reports and dashboards, developing database software and helping define the company's business intelligence practices. This role also maintains awareness of emerging and evolving technologies that can assist the company in reaching its business intelligence goals.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work with business partners to define information consumption requirements; design, develop and deliver solutions to meet those needs
- Develop, manage and support robust ETL solutions
- Troubleshoots business intelligence related issues
- Lead root cause analysis for business intelligence related issues
- Define and evolve business intelligence practices
- Actively participate in design sessions and work closely with business analysts and other IT staff
- Direct medium-sized, cross-functional business intelligence development activities
Requirements for Position:
- Has deep knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server database
- Be able to write complex SQL queries, functions and stored procedures to extract and aggregate data for BI solutions
- Demonstrates expert ability in creating SSRS, PowerPivot and Power BI reports
- Understands database design, architecture and normalization
- Employs best practices that maximize database performance and reusability
- Works well in a collaborative team environment
- Has effective time management skills, strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines
- Be able to think analytically, troubleshoot and solve BI issues
- Demonstrates creative solutions to complex problems
- Uses industry best practices when manipulating dimensional and relational databases
- Expert at optimizing complex SQL queries and stored procedures using execution plans and indexes
- Employs ETL process and methodology best practices
- Applies best practices when enhancing and developing SSIS packages

Qualifications:
- BS or MS degree in Computer Science, related field or equivalent experience
- 4 years developing business intelligence solutions, including SSRS, PowerPivot and Power BI reports
- Expert T-SQL programming skills
- Strong experience with SSIS supporting ETL and BI related solutions
- Superior communication and collaboration skills
- Passion for providing solutions to customer problems
- Excellent problem-solving abilities
- Experience in Agile-styled software development and large-scale projects
