Job Description
Senior Calibration Technician
Location: Bloomington, IN. This role is 100% onsite
Duration: 12 months with the possibility of extension/conversion
Hours: M - F; 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm
Summary:
The Senior Calibration Technician in Engineering Calibration performs routine and non-routine instrument calibrations including maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and repairs on a variety of equipment and instruments for manufacturing equipment. This position reports to the Calibration Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Ensure timely and accurate calibration support to manufacturing, packaging, quality, and other supporting departments where current Good Manufacturing Practices instruments are used.
• Set-up standards and special purpose laboratory equipment to test, evaluate, and calibrate instruments, including researching instrument specification and calibration techniques for new equipment.
• Serves as a technical resource on calibration issues and investigation of out-of-tolerance non-conformances.
• Adjusts/repairs instruments to meet calibration tolerance requirements.
• Participate in continuous improvement functions (Lean initiatives), which increase efficiency, solve problems, generate cost savings and improve quality.
• Serves as a subject matter expert for customers as it relates to calibration.
• Coordinates instrument re-certification with outside standard laboratories, which includes performing incoming inspections and documentation reviews on these instruments.
• Write, revise, review, and train other Technicians on Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Job Requirements (Education, Qualifications and Experience):
• High school diploma required; Associates Degree preferred.
• Minimum 3 years calibration or electronics experience required, preferably from the clinical/pharmaceutical industry.
• Experience using calibration software/databases preferred.
• Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook and the ability to use enterprise software (examples include: JDE, Trackwise, Maximo, etc.)
Physical / Safety Requirements:
• Must be able to lift, push/pull, and carry up to 55 pounds.
• Must be able to lift 20 pounds overhead.
• Must wear personal protective equipment, including respirator.
• May be required to work with pressurized equipment, hot surfaces.
• May be required to work in confined spaces.
• Duties may require overtime work, including nights and weekends
• Position requires standing for long hours.
• Use of hands and fingers to manipulate office and calibration equipment is required
• Ability to qualify for Grade B gowning
