Engineering Architect/Services Consulting Engineer

Roles & responsibilities:

In this highly visible customer facing role as a Services Consulting Engineer, you will:

• Engage with customers and stakeholders on successful planning and execution of validation engagements.
• Support next generation R&S, Data Center for Enterprise and Service Provider customers to accelerate implementation of new platforms/solutions.
• Validate new design solutions to meet customer requirements.
• Drive requirements discussions, analyze test requirements, build test lab configurations, author and execute test plans and document results.
• Identify key issues and gaps and work with engineering and delivery teams to resolve them.
• Develop/integrate new technologies into lab environments.
• Collaborate with Solution Architects from Delivery and Sales teams regarding future initiatives and securing customer business.
• Innovate to gain efficiency and accelerate validation efforts.
• Identify and facilitate new business growth opportunities.
• Collaborate with other engineers to ensure successful project delivery.

Desired Skills:

• Must have deep technical expertise with Core routing and switching, Data Center technologies, and preferably Cloud technologies (optional).
• Must also have strong customer interaction and consulting skills. They must be able to articulate complex concepts in easy-to-understand language.
• Must be proficient in customer facing discussions as well as the technologies listed above.
• Typically requires BS plus 4-5 years related experience, or a MS with 2-3 years of related experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Routing and Switching experience, R&S and/or DC CCNA Required, CCNP Preferred
• Strong knowledge of NX-OS, IOS-XE, IOS-XR and IOS configuration.
• Strong knowledge of Cisco DC and Enterprise platforms (N2K-N9K, ASR1K-9K, ISR and Wireless Platforms)
• Experience in one or more of the following: SD-WAN, Wireless Technologies, ACI & VXLAN (both optional), LISP, BGP, OSPF Routing, MPLS, LAN Switching, VPC, Data Center Technologies, Virtualization
• Programming experience/familiarity (Python / Robot Framework optional)
• Test and validation experience (hardware or software)
• Strong communication and customer facing skills (written, verbal, and formal presentation)
• Knowledge of Industry Test Tools
• Ability to debug and troubleshoot complex network problems
• Hands on experience with IXIA and/or SPIRENT tools is desirable
