R&D Project Manager

Overview

You will join our high-performance team and act as a technical project manager coordinating an experienced Research and Development (R&D) team in a multi-disciplinary New Product Development project within the Automotive Industry.

This role is Hybrid

Responsibilities

• Lead R&D Mechatronic development programs
• Act as the main technical interface between the client’s R&D team and their end customer
• Liaise with functional leads to drive project timeline & ensuring R&D Mechatronic planning is in place to ensure project milestones are met.  
• Ensure project risks are understood, communicated appropriately, and mitigated in a timely and effective manner.
• Liaise with functional managers to compile R&D costs for resource planning, budgeting, and to inform RFI’s / RFQ’s
• Present project updates to peers, colleagues, and management
• Support other disciplines outside R&D, eg. Quality, Process Development, Purchasing, etc in bringing the project to Start of Production (SOP)

Qualifications

Essential

• Relevant third level qualification or equivalent work experience

Desirable

• Project Management qualification
• Management qualification or relevant years of experience

Experience

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in R&D project management in multidisciplinary teams operating in a regulated environment such as automotive, medical devices or other similar
• Experience dealing with customers, and communicating customer interactions to management
• Must have strong background in one or more of; Electronic Hardware Design, Mechanical Design, or Software Development
• Must have an excellent track record managing multi-disciplinary projects in a high-volume industrial environment
• Must have a proven track record in bringing projects in on time and on budget.
• Extensive experience in planning of projects and use of planning tools such as MS project or similar
• Experience working with regulated products, ideally in Design Validation (DV) and Process Validation (PV) for the Automotive sector
• Knowledge of engineering drawings & drawing control is desirable but not essential
• Knowledge of CAD software such as Catia/Solidworks is desirable but not essential
