Position: Medical Office Billing
Location: Hope, AR
Hours: M-F 8-5
Pay: $15-18/hr, DOE
Qualifications
- Proficient with a PC
- Knowledge of Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA)
- Knowledge of HCPCS and ICD-10 codes
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Knowledge of medical billing
- Customer Service skills for interacting with patients
- Problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently or with a group
- Working knowledge of MS Word and Excel
- Typing at least 35WPM
- Proficiency using 10-Key
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Entering Patient Health information into the TriTech system from the ZOLL Web PCR
- Assigns appropriate ICD-10 codes based on the information documented in the patient care report
- Assign the level of ambulance based on the CAD report
- Assign appropriate charges for services supported by the patient care report
- Review documentation to determine medical necessity of the ambulance transport and enter appropriate billing narrative to each claim
- Ensure that all necessary documents are present before submitting a claim for reimbursement
- Ensure each account is billed to the correct payer and billing schedule
- Performing other duties as assigned
Education and Experience Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of one year revenue cycle management experience or related experience
Physical Requirements
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
- Employee may occasionally be required to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds
- Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- Work may require sitting, lifting, stooping, bending, stretching, walking, standing, pushing, pulling, reaching, and other physical exertion
- Must possess visual acuity to prepare and analyze data and figures, operate a computer terminal, and operate a motor vehicle
