Overall Purpose of the Job
Drive a truck or truck-trailer combination with a capacity between 10,000 and 26,000 GVWR (Not requiring “CDL” class license) to transport and deliver goods or materials in a liquid, loose or packaged form.
Key Activities and Accountabilities
Follow appropriate federal, state, local and FCC safety procedures and regulations when transporting goods or materials.
2. Perform pre-trip inspection of truck, trailer and/or vehicle to ensure that mechanical, safety and emergency equipment is in good working order before using for service. A Pre-trip Inspection Form must be completed accurately when applicable.
3. Any items found defective or not working after the pre-trip inspection are to be documented, repaired and/or replaced prior to vehicle being put into service.
4. Perform a Post-trip inspection of truck, trailer and/or vehicle upon completion of trip or end of work day, whichever is applicable. A Post-trip inspection must be completed at the end of each trip or end of day whichever is applicable.
5. Submit “Written Driver Repair Request Form” when repairs are required.
6. Must maintain accurate and up to date Hours of Service logs for all hours on and off duty and of vehicle/repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations.
7. Drive trucks with capacities 10,000 – 26,000#, including truck-trailer combinations, in order to deliver products or other materials.
8. Maneuver trucks into loading/unloading positions, follow signals from loading/unloading crew as needed, check that vehicle position is correct and any special loading/unloading equipment is properly positioned.
9. Secure loads for transport, using rope, blocks, chocks, chains, binders, straps with protective coverings and/or covers as required by federal and state regulations as well as any Frank’s requirements.
10. Obtain receipts or signatures when loads are delivered and/or collect payment for services when required.
11. Check all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate.
12. Read bills of lading to determine assignment details.
13. Assist in the loading/offloading of material and goods when required.
14. Report any vehicle defects, vehicle damages, accidents (vehicle or property damage), and traffic violations in accordance with government and FCC requirements.
15. Ensure that company vehicle and property remain clean and environmentally safe at all times.
16. Attend safety and/or regulation update meetings monthly or when deemed necessary.
17. When not needed for driving purposes assist in daily operations needs as directed by front line supervisor for the department for which you are assigned.
Job Knowledge and Qualifications
Valid Driver’s License required for operating such a vehicle in accordance with Federal, State regulations.

3. Medical card; ability to pass annual DOT physical and drug screen.
4. Transportation Worker’s Identification Card if delivering to or picking up at docks, locations or plants.
5. General knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations regarding DOT drivers/vehicles.
6. Knowledge of Transportation principles and methods for moving people or goods by roads.
7. Knowledge of policies, procedures and strategies to promote effective local, state, federal and FCC requirements for the protection of people, data, property and institutions.
8. Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language, including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition and grammar.
9. Knowledge of mathematics in order to correctly complete Hours of Service logs.
10. Capability to perform routine maintenance on equipment.
