Role Summary:
The Project Controls Analyst is responsible for schedule and cost control of all assigned projects within the Engineering and Construction Services (E&CS) group. The analyst is responsible to support the feasibility team and/or Project Manager in development of a work breakdown structure (WBS), cost estimate and schedule at the appropriate level for the project. Once a project is active, the Project Controls Analyst will continue to track progress against the baseline schedule, update the schedule or manage a contract scheduler, track project cost against the baseline budget and generate monthly reports. The Analyst should work with the Project Manager to anticipate issues and suggest actions to stay on schedule and budget. In addition, the Analyst may be required to develop project metrics, run risk analysis on project estimates, and other duties as requested.
Responsibilities & Essential Functions include:
- Cost Control. Assist in the development of estimates for new projects using past project data and industry standards. Create cost tracking tools and track project spend against the baseline at least monthly. Troubleshoot inconsistencies and resolve inaccuracies. Provide reports and analysis to the Project Manager and Management to accurately share the status of the project. Make recommendations for contingency usage, supplemental AFEs and adjustments to the project plan to support an under-budget completion.
- Schedule Control. Work with the Project Manager, Project Team and SMEs to develop a project schedule or manager a contract scheduler. Update the schedule at a minimum monthly by seeking updates from the Project Manager, Contractors, Supply Chain and others. Coordinate with Supply Chain to receive schedules directly from Contractors whenever possible and imbed those in the overall Project Schedule. Manage the schedule using the Critical Path method and provide recommendations for adjustments to the project plan to support an on-schedule completion.
- Templates and Processes. Create templates for cost and schedule control to create consistencies and efficiencies. Save completed project data to be used as go-by information for future projects. Continue to improve processes.

Position Requirements:

Education: Preferred BS Degree in Accounting or Engineering. Other related degrees might be considered with applicable experience.

Experience: 5 – 10 years of experience in projects, 2 years in project controls

Special skills: proficiency in Microsoft Project and Excel required, P6 preferred.

Travel Requirements: up to 20% travel.
