Job Title: Material Handler Senior
Reports To: Warehouse supervisor
Position Summary: Receives incoming materials, supplies and equipment. Unloads trucks, compares received items to purchase order to verify accuracy and quantity of shipment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Understanding of warehouse layout and how to locate materials.
- Inspects material for damage and defects and escalates issues to Lead.
- Uncrates and assembles materials if directed and removes and disposes of unneeded packing materials.
- Strives for continuous improvement through on the job learning.
- Delivers materials to appropriate departments accurately and obtains proper authorization of delivered materials.
- Prepares crates and other items to be shipped.
- Makes sure that items are properly tagged and labeled.
- May drive truck/forklift to transport stored items from warehouse to plant or to pick up items from several locations for shipment.
- Observes and complies with all safe work practices, wears PPE.
- Complies with all HSE regulations and requirements.
- Must be able to work with the team in developing improved work processes for the department.
- Utilizes computerized inventory system.
- Resolve simple vendor discrepancies and report those that are more complex to a higher level.
- Maintain an adequate inventory of warehouse supplies.
- Assures correct materials are pulled from stock and staged with the location noted.
- Assists in assuring accurate issues on material requests and required systems process occurs.
- Requires employee to constantly type and use a computer and other office equipment, such as copier, printer, calendar, telephones, etc.
- Requires operation of heavy equipment, such as forklift on a frequent frequency
Required Education
Preferred Education
- Secondary school graduation certificate or equivalent plus minimum of 3 years experience in Supply Chain activities with particular emphasis on Material Control activities including active
- Participation in receipt and issue of material and equipment.
- A solid working knowledge of materials, production, gas plant, fire - safety and maintenance.
- Solid understanding of Supply Chain theory and practical application.
- Working knowledge of AccPac systems is preference. Additionally computer skills related to Microsoft Office applications.

Physical Demands
- Standard requirements - Bending, squatting, climbing, stooping, twisting, reaching, and working at elevated heights will all be required occasionally.
- Must be able to work outside in extreme temperatures or in a shop environment.
- Must be able to work under pressure.
- Must be able to work flexible hours including nights and weekends.
- Requires employee to stand for at least 75% of the time
- Requires employee to sit for at least 25% of the time
- Requires employee to, occasionally climb stairs or ladders to pull materials from shelves and must be able to maintain balance on stairs or ladders without assistance.
- Must be able to communicate and respond to coworkers, customers, vendors, suppliers and emergency cues/alarms, in person and on the telephone, including use of mobile devices
- Must be able to constantly lift at least 5# pounds
- Requires work in outdoor conditions, including unairconditioned facility
- Requires moving and maintaining self in different positions stoop to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.
- Must wear all required PPE, including fire-retardant clothing, helmets, face shields, hearing protection, safety goggles, steel-toed boots, as applicable.
- Position requires employee drive 25% of the time occasionally
