A Epic Technician is responsible for assisting the Ophthalmologist and Optometrist in the exam lane and to input data into the Electronic Health Record as well as administering treatment as allowed and ordered by the physician.

Responsibilities
Communication and Patient Care:
- Input exam date into electronic health record
- Assists doctor in exam lane
- Handle medication refill requests
- Type and send communications to patients and other healthcare providers
- Monitors patient flow, ensuring the physician exam rooms are always full after testing
- Escorts patients to front desk after exam
Administative:
- Ensures that exam rooms are tidied between patients, including cleaning sinks and sanitizing equipment
- Cleans all lenses used by doctors
- Monitors schedule to stay on-time of patient scheduling
- Billing and Coding is billed and ordered
Essential Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of medical and ophthalmic terminology
- Knowledge of EHR/Zeiss Forum
- Basic Computer Skills
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Positive team member
- Strong organization with attention to detail
- Demonstrated computer literacy.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two years experience in a healthcare setting preferred; ophthalmology preferred
