This need for change applies directly to how we utilize data to deliver insights back to the business and help them to make better-informed decisions. How we go from having data, to having curated useful data, to having actionable information is where you’d play a prominent role—You are a great fit if you are adept at improving existing data infrastructure via optimizing SQL queries and views, streamlining ETM performance, and increasing data feed accuracy in close collaboration with our IT teams.
It’s important to note that this role’s scope is not to simply band-aid what’s broken; we need your expertise and knowledge to apply industry best practices in ways that help address existing data tech-debt and design F5’s future state infrastructure. This position requires someone with the thought leadership necessary to explore, evaluate, and propose changes to F5’s sales data platform and build frameworks for improving data analysis. You’d also be a critical member and influencer on SaaS data capture, metric definitions, and reporting build-out as we gain grow our SaaS business.

Primary Responsibilities
- Establish and lead the strategic road map for the sales analytics & compensation teams in partnership with relevant partners across the company
- Analyze business requirements; construct the conceptual model and data flow processes
- Partner with other team members as well as cross-functional partners to support business processes and system solutions
- Communicate data architecture to development teams
- Consult and perform design reviews to ensure business needs are met
- Lead validation efforts to ensure data quality
- Recruit, lead, and mentor a growing team of data analysts/BI analyst
- Maintain a thorough understanding of Sales reporting and the KPIs that drive the business
- Propose and implement business metrics for senior management reviews and work with analysts and IT to design and enhance data infrastructure to support business growth
- Responsible for upholding F5’s Business Code of Ethics and for promptly reporting violations of the Code or other company policies.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Minimum 8 years of related experience with Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Informatics, Business, or other related quantitative field or equivalent experience required
- Minimum of 3 years building data solutions utilizing Tableau (preferred) or similar BI tools
- Expert SQL skills with experience in development and execution of data movement tools using scripts. Knowledge of Snowflake environments and SQL: ANSI preferred.
- Ability to articulate pros and cons of various technologies and platforms and architectural options
- Experience and knowledge with Data Warehouse ETL process
- Experience with tools and concepts related to data and analytics, such as dimensional modeling, ETL, reporting tools, data governance, data warehousing, structured and unstructured data
- Familiarity with schema design, query optimization, and data pipeline maintenance
- Working knowledge of Salesforce.com and familiarity working with data in a cloud environment a plus
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, with ability to articulate data analysis simply
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Duties are performed in a normal office environment while sitting at a desk or computer table
- Duties require the ability to utilize a computer, communicate over the telephone, and read printed material
- Duties may require being on call periodically and working outside normal working hours (evenings and weekends)
- Job may be performed in an office environment sitting at a desk or computer table. Job requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Quarter end flexibility required to allow for occasional extra hours.
