What are the responsibilities and job description for the Internal Communications Manager, Central Products position at Facebook App?
Facebook is looking for an Internal Communications Manager for Central Products. This person will join the Global Internal Communications team and will be responsible for developing and executing an internal communications strategy that helps keep employees informed and connected to the organization’s mission. The Central Products organization includes all the shared features that operate across multiple products or apps such as design, integrity, research, analytics, and social impact products.
In this role, you will define and drive the internal communications strategy for the organization and serve as a strategic advisor to executives across Central Products. You will have the opportunity to create initiatives that will directly impact the people and company culture within Central Products and the broader Facebook company.
The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker who excels at collaborating with executives, colleagues, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality work even in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. You should be exceptionally organized and detail oriented, capable of managing cross-functional projects and work streams, with an aptitude for prioritization. Strong writing and editing skills are essential—specifically the ability to communicate complex, technical concepts to diverse audiences in a clear and concise manner. Experience in developing and executing communication plans, managing internal events, and moderating internal communities is preferred. - Partner closely with Central Products executives to develop internal communications strategies for their respective areas
- Develop and execute change management and strategic communication initiatives in partnership with teams across Central Products and Facebook
- Manage internal communication channels for Central Products organizations, which involves proactively working with content authors, moderating Workplace posts, and managing Workplace group membership
- Manage internal communications-led events from inception to execution, which includes creating narrative themes, developing executive messaging, and overseeing event logistics
- Write and develop messaging around various topics, including company strategy, priorities, and announcements
- Understand the unique needs of product, engineering, and business teams (goals, products, tools, process) in order to produce effective and relevant communication strategies
- Consult with team leads on their communication and change management strategies
- Lead the development and strategy around new and existing communication channels
- Create and develop messaging around various topics, including company strategy, priorities, and announcements
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to implement effective communications for teams within Central Products
- Partner closely with other internal and external communications teams to align on communication opportunities
- 10 years experience working in corporate communications, or nonprofit mission-driven communications
- Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related discipline
- Experience communicating to a global audience, using multiple types of channels and mediums
- Experience working on a team and communicating to all levels of the organization
- Experience writing and turning complex information into relevant, engaging, timely and valuable content
- Experience with managing multiple projects simultaneously and to work autonomously
- Experience in solving problems using judgement and analysis, providing practical, timely and proactive communications guidance and support
- Experience with events and logistics and supporting executives
- Experience in public relations, journalism, branding and campaigns
- Experience communicating to an employee population of technologists and engineers
- Experience in the technology industry
- Experience in change management, crisis response, executive communications
