Fair Haven, a Continuing Care Retirement Community, is currently seeking applicants for a Director of Maintenance. This position requires a broad range of general maintenance skills including preventive maintenance, repair, and staff supervision. The position requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and handle heavier loads with assistance or proper equipment. The ability to climb ladders and stairs is also necessary.
The primary purpose of your job position is to perform the day-to-day activities of the Maintenance Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations governing our facility, and as may be directed by the Direct Supervisor, the Administrator, and/or other Department Heads.
Applicants should have verifiable skills in the following areas:
- Painting
- Carpentry
- Appliance repair
- Troubleshooting
- Electrical, mechanical, plumbing
- Blueprint/drawing/wiring diagram reading
- Regulatory compliance and documentation
- Working as part of a high-performance team
- Computer use, smartphones, texting, emailing
- Great communication with other staff and residents
- Multitasking in an environment with changing priorities
Supervisor Responsibilities
- Ensure that work/maintenance schedules are followed as closely as practical.
- Report all accidents/incidents to your supervisor.
- Follow established policies governing the use of labels and SDS.
- Ensure staff perform day-to-day maintenance functions as assigned
- Maintain general community and facility in good repair, ensuring a safe, clean and orderly environment.
Must pass a background check that will be done by the company prior to hire.
Requirements:
- Background in general repair, HVAC, construction, and plumbing
- Regular attendance is required.
- Previous experience working with or in field of electrical repair, facility maintenance, painter, construction, grounds-keeper preferred.
- Basic understanding of Life Safety Code.
- Must be available to work other hours than normal hours as needed.
Experience:
- Supervising: 1 year (Preferred)
- Nursing Home: 1 year (Preferred)
- Maintenance Skilled Nursing: 1 year (Required)
License/Certification:
- Driver's License (Required)
