Designs, develops, and standardizes electrical solutions through the selection and integration of electrical components.
Essential Job Duties:
- Maintain and enhance electrical designs to improve manufacturability, reduce costs, and improve product quality and performance
- Coordinate definition of design requirements, application reviews, feasibility analyses, and project scheduling
- Obtain pricing and availability of new components used in a design
- Develop cost estimates for product development and/or changes
- Coordinate the ordering of parts for prototype and/or concept designs
- Establish and modify component and system testing procedures based on regulatory standards, industry standards, and customer requirements
- Organize component and systems testing, analyze results, and troubleshoot issues
- Create and maintain documentation, including schematic drawings, design manual content, systems interactions, and guides for operation and troubleshooting
- Provide technical support to production, customer service, and end users
- Establish internal design processes, procedures, and standards
- Research and evaluate new technology, techniques, and industry best practices
- Write, modify, and review Service or Operator manuals
