Job Posting for Coordinator III, Capital Projects at Fairfax County Public Schools
Plans, manages, and coordinates multifaceted project activities and personnel of capital improvements and planning; exercises leadership to design, create, implement, assess, and revise services or activities of the office.
Any combination of education and experience is equivalent to a bachelor's degree in business management, project management, or a field appropriate to the assignment.
Six (6) years of progressively more responsible experience in the field of work encompassed by the section, some of which shall have been in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
Advanced degree(s) beyond the minimum degree requirement in a relevant field may be considered for some experience.
Knowledge of theories, procedures, practices, materials, and methods related to project and financial management in the assigned office.
Knowledge of school organization, mission, and the requirements for the assigned function to accomplish the mission.
Knowledge of codes and divisional education specifications to ensure that bond and other construction projects are designed and aligned to Division policy.
Familiarity with applicable local, county, and state regulations, laws, and policies.
Proficiency in the use of technology and data compilation, analysis, and reporting.
Skill in personnel, financial, and administrative management.
Ability to manage, evaluate, and supervise program activities and personnel.
Ability to effectively lead teams in multiple projects.
Ability to facilitate meetings and/or present information to groups.
Ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with personnel assigned to schools, other departments, public entities, and citizens.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or a related field.
Professional Engineer (PE) license, or
American Institute of Architects (AIA) Certified, or
Certified Construction Manager (CCM), or
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
