Job Description:
The Exercise Physiologist is responsible for providing professional care, assessment, evaluation and treatment in the cardiovascular setting.
- Performs a variety of tests and treatments including stress tests, records patients response, metabolic gas analysis, etc
- Cleans and maintains department equipment and stocks departmental supplies.
- Attends various department and/or committee meetings as designated by the manager and/or supervisor.
- Assists with policies and procedure development and review, CQI activities.
- Assists RN and/or respiratory therapist in the various cardiovascular programs.
- Evaluates and documents patient care.
- Provide individual assessment of exercise tolerance for each patient prior to the utilization of the exercise equipment.
- As a representative of the center, demonstrates responsibility and accountability for enhancing positive interactions and diffusing negative situations.
- Monitors cardiac rhythms and responds appropriately to all arrhythmias.
- Supervises and instructs students.
Job Qualifications:
- A Masters degree in Exercise Physiology or equivalent from an accredited institution required.
- Bachelors degree will be considered.
- CPR certification required. ACSM/AACVPR certification preferred.
- Previous experience in Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation programs as well as noninvasive cardiovascular testing. Exposure to Wellness and Fitness programs as well as Sports Medicine preferred.
Exerting up to 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10-25 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible up to 10 pounds amount of force often.
Salary : $18 - $30
