What are the responsibilities and job description for the Credential Clerk position at Fairplex (Los Angeles County Fair Association)?
The Credentials Clerk is a seasonal position. He/she is responsible for selling, taking and processing tickets for the Los Angeles County Fair, Fairplex and other events self-produced or produced by a third party. The Credentials Clerk performs a broad range of administrative duties and reports directly to the Credentials Ticketing Supervisor.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Represent the Los Angeles County Fair and Fairplex in a professional and ethical manner
- Duties:
- Answering a high volume of incoming calls with proper phone etiquette
- Filing paperwork alphabetically
- Entering data on Excel spreadsheets
- Selling, taking and processing admission, parking, concert and attraction tickets for customers
- Processing orders from various departments
- Perform other duties as required
Required Skills

Completion of high school education or GED
- Must possess strong oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel is necessary
- Must have good general computer skills
- Ability to type 40 wpm
- Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively under pressure
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills and a strong understanding of customer service
- Ability to work well with people
- Ability to communicate on the telephone effectively
- Fluency in another language is a plus
Physical Requirements of the Job:
- Ability to move around the office and fair grounds
- Ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must be able to climb stairs
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
