Fairwinds Technologies is looking for Software Architect to support the various updates and upgrades to the Army NetOPS software suite of tools. Personnel will support the Prime Contractor in architecture, design, development, planning and development of documentation including updates to software version documents, software bill of materials (SBOM), release notes and presentation material upon request. The Software Architect will provide support to the multi-week demonstration events.
Location: Remote with willingness to travel: Travel is determined based on operational tempo. Could be up to 50%. Travel is required.

Minimum Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in team environments.
- Proven technical aptitude and ability to solve complex technical issues.
- Demonstrated ability to create high-level architectural diagrams, defining system components, and making decisions about technology stacks, frameworks, and patterns.
- Excellent communications skills (both written and verbal).
- Experience leading software development efforts using Agile concepts and methodology.
- A minimum of 10 years’ total experience of increasing responsibilities and specialized experience in software design and development
- Secret Security Clearance required.
Responsibilities:
- Help in the architecture and refinement of concept of operation (CONOPS) development as well as the functionality for all Army Network Operations components. Develop and present slides in preparation for customer reviews. Provide software architecture support to multiple demonstration events.
- Review code and designs created by development teams to ensure they align with the architectural guidelines and best practices. Experience in conducting code reviews to maintain code quality and consistency.
- Create high-level architectural diagrams, defining system components, and making decisions about technology stacks, frameworks, and patterns.
- Mentor and coach software developers and testers. Provide guidance on architectural principles, design patterns, and development practices.
- Maintain clear and up-to-date documentation of software architecture, particularly those related to Network Operations development activities. Document design decisions, architecture diagrams, and other relevant information.
- Help oversee multiple software releases during the product development phase.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to the NetOPS development architecture and design. Assess potential risks and work on strategies to minimize their impact on the project.
- Support services and integration efforts to identify inefficiencies, recommend improvement areas and prepare project plans.
