The Lead Procurement Manager provides material supply management services including following up on material statuses, contacting new material vendors, collaborate with engineering design department for material updates, forecast material spends across multiple projects, use PowerBi reports to share long lead constraints, negotiate material pricing, invoice validation, change management, and value engineering. This position is based out of Boise, ID.

How will you contribute to the team?
- Prepares and issues periodic cost reports to senior technical staff
- Support project team with material status updates
- Identify long lead materials and communicate procurement plan
- Review construction schedules to forecast materials purchases
- Collaborate with engineering design to provide value engineering and new material options
- Support in contacting more material suppliers
- With minimal supervision, reviews all change orders in accordance with the client’s approval process
- Drive project completion within planned schedule by following up with other project team members
- Work to highlight issues and constraints and escalate to proper management
- With minimal supervision, provides procurement services for the client, where applicable, for construction and engineering services, including preparing RFP and bid analysis.
- Where applicable, overviews and reports to the client on contractor buyout of subcontract bid packages
- Attends the bi-weekly cost meetings to review procurement status and change order status with the contractors and engineering teams.
- With minimal supervision, carries out an earned value analysis of the project on a periodic basis
- Reviews the contractors close out administration and ensures that they meet their contractual requirements
- Performs such other duties as the Supervisor may from time to time deem necessary
- Complexity - Work involves conventional practice but may include a variety of complex features
- Decision-making - Most assignments are performed solitarily. Makes sound judgements on technical problems and methods. Receives approval on proposed plans for projects and general direction as to results expected or on unusual problems
- Work direction given to others - Supervises, gives work direction to, and/or reviews the work of junior technical staff and/or others who assist in specific assignments
Job duties:
- Call/follow up suppliers to check updates on materials
- Problem solving
- Chasing down other project teams for deliverables
- Supporting in finding new suppliers
- Review construction design drawings to find long lead materials
- Support with meeting notes on behalf of owner
- Review construction schedules to provide material forecast
- Provide data reports in PowerBi to make purchasing decisions
- Provide some data analytics
- Negotiate material pricing
What will you contribute?
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Quantity Surveying or a related field, plus ten years relevant experience
- Experience with PowerBi, SQL, and other data analytic tools would be a plus
- Must thoroughly understand and utilize Information Technology in the performance of work including Internet, Intranet, Microsoft Windows OS, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Project
- Must be highly articulate, have clear and logical approach to problem solving, and strong choice-making abilities. Must have excellent communication and presentation skills
