The Shipping Supervisor role provides support to the team. The right candidate for this position must possess superb organization and prioritization skills, work well under pressure, and be available to work different hours.
Job description / Job duties :
Planning
- Organize all and any paperwork that is given to drivers for their routes
- Conduct inspections for trucks, forklifts, and any other equipment and request any maintenance that needs to be done
- Organize the team based on time to assign specific and individual functions
Execution
- Receive and send information about the departure and arrival of trucks
- Organize routes and send communications about them
- Ensure that processes are followed
- Join the team doing the same activity that the team does to motivate, ensure compliance with the plan and avoid possible errors
- All other projects and responsibilities are assigned
- Manage the time with team to complete all dispatches within 40 hours per week
Profile :
Qualifications and Skills
- Demonstrated ability to successfully prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines in a complex, high-paced environment
- Must have a flexible schedule and be able to work long hours if is necessary
- Works well under pressure
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience
- Minimum 1 year managing staff
Specific knowledge
- Experience with Microsoft programs like excel and outlook
- Bi-lingual (Spanish and English) required
