What are the responsibilities and job description for the FAC Volunteer position at Family Abuse Center?
Successful FAC Volunteers will be aligned with our mission and purpose of eliminating domestic violence in Central Texas. FAC Volunteers will be welcoming, friendly, flexible, compassionate and professional.
FAC Volunteers may choose from different opportunities such as children's group, cleaning/organizing, decorating for holidays, serving meals, being an RA Assistant, helping outreach/awareness efforts and volunteering at special events. Volunteers are in complete control of their schedule and may volunteer as much or as little as they choose in accordance with their availability.
We provide all services for free, so volunteers are absolutely vital to our day-to-day operations. We need volunteers so that FAC can keep serving those who have been affected by domestic violence.

Responsibilities
- Maintain professionalism in all interactions with FAC staff, interns, clients and other volunteers.
- Support shelter efforts by helping complete routine tasks.
- Act in accordance with FAC guidelines and policies.
- Collaborate with FAC staff, interns and other volunteers to achieve organizational goals.
Qualifications
- Bilingual preferred, but not required
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Crisis management experience
- Flexibility
- Experience working with kids
- Strong work ethic
- Takes initiative when completing tasks
- Problem-solving skills
