About the Job
Family Centered Services of Alaska is seeking a Clinician to oversee the treatment of clients for Family Centered Services of Alaska’s Fairbanks area programs Area programs include outpatient services, alternative school-based services, or residential treatment services. The Clinician is responsible for the planning of assigned tasks, organizing, and the implementation and evaluation of the treatment components.
This position offers a $5,000 sign on bonus. The sign on bonus is to be paid on a schedule throughout the first year of employment. Started salary is determined based on education, experience, and licensure if applicable.
Milieu Treatment Responsibilities Include:
- With the Director of Clinical Services, responsible for creating and maintaining milieu treatment activities.
- Provide individual and group counseling to clients.
- Provide family counseling and/or training.
- Provide expert witness regarding clients in court.
- Provide crisis intervention as needed.
- Participate in special activities, e.g., outdoor recreation, job hunting.
- Provide support and therapy to staff as needed.
- Provide training and consultation to staff as arranged.
- On-call, on-rotation status.
Administrative Responsibilities Include:
- Coordinate with local and state agencies and staff relative to the clients’ milieu program.
- Provide consultation and coordination with personnel from State and Local agencies and other community professionals.
- Responsible for Individual Treatment Plans; including development, implementation, evaluation, and quarterly review.
- Responsible to the Program Coordinator to maintain compliance with Alaska state regulations and the regulations of the Division of Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities.
- Complete state admission and discharge forms.
- Responsible to complete all paperwork in a timely fashion.
- Keep current counseling notes.
- Provides a minimum 23 hours of documented rehabilitation services for FCSA children and families.
Education and/or Experience:
- Master’s degree, from an accredited university, in social work, psychology, or counseling, or a closely related field.
- Prefer two years’ experience in providing direct services to adolescents, program development, ISP development and implementation, and programmatic staff supervision.
- Able to work as a part of a treatment team.
- Physical ability to employ Physical and Verbal Behavior Management system after being certified.
- Knowledge of Alaskan childcare laws and juvenile justice laws.
- Current Alaska driver’s license, driving record and vehicle insurance.
- Potential employees must undergo a fingerprint check which shows that their record is free from criminal convictions which, in the judgment of FCSA, would adversely affect their ability to work safely with children.
- Current First aid and CPR certificate
- This position is a driving position. Applicants will be required to submit a driving record if selected for the position.
