Good Sam Enterprises is looking to fill a Vice President of Business Development position to build a core B2B strategy across all Good Sam product offerings in the market. The Vice President position will work with business unit owners across multiple insurance, warranty, and protection products to build custom programs for medium to large business partners. The individual will step into and manage current relationships as well as be tasked to build a robust pipeline of potential clients. This is a new division of Good Sam and will require an entrepreneurial mindset and leadership skills to build the team and division strategy.
The Vice President of Business Development will be directly responsible for B2B sales process management, client relationships, and buildout of custom programs to remain competitive. The position will require cross-functional collaboration working with business owners, marketing, technology, and other enterprise stakeholders to ensure an aligned B2B strategy and execution. The role will also act as the company's expert in gathering market intelligence and helping build the necessary competitive platform to grow in Good Sam's desired niches. The Vice President of Business Development will report directly to the SVP of Good Sam and Loyalty.
Responsibilities
- Identify potential segments of business that will drive Good Sam's growth and profitability.
- Build short- and long-term roadmaps to reaching key objectives in the first 90 days of employment and communicate progress to key executives within the enterprise
- Manage existing and new client relationships alongside relevant cross-functional business unit owners. This includes relationship status reports and performance for relevant books of business.
- Collaborate with relevant business units to identify expansion opportunities to better support client needs.
- Develop quarterly business expansion opportunity presentations to continue to challenge the status quo and deliver internal assessments on market competitiveness.
- Provide weekly business development and partnership updates to leadership.
- Expand client relationship opportunities that align with Good Sam's overall corporate strategy.
- Grow a robust pipeline of potential business by cultivating client networks.
- Create and manage business plan with identifiable and measurable operational and financial goals.
Build a state-of-the-art Business Development practice within Good Sam
- Manage a team of sales and relationship-management professionals to ensure a high-caliber client experience and strive towards revenue generation / sales growth goals.
- Build and manage B2B marketing channels working alongside the established marketing team.
- Build and maintain sustainable client support processes to ensure expedient response rates leveraging already-established internal resources.
- Identify short and long-term organizational structures that are built for growth.
Manage the Good Sam Business Development practice
- Primary driver of contract negotiations with potential clients working alongside internal legal counsel to ensure aligned contract strategy and cross-functional business operators.
- Manage client revenue & profit growth and optimal return rates alongside business units.
Education & Experience
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in B2B Business Development or related field. MBA preferred.
- 7 years of insurance, warranty, travel industry, or related field experience desired.
- Extensive experience with client relationship management and B2B sales.
- Human capital management experience and proven record of growing team members.
