Reports to: Director of Construction
Position summary: Plans, designs, and implements activities pertaining to the construction and renovation of company assets, specifically the store facilities.
General Purpose: The Manager of Store Design works closely with the Director of Construction and the Marketing, Operations, Facilities, Legal, and Information Technology teams to design and implement builds and renovations of store facilities. The Manager of Store Design is responsible for supporting the design management and implementation across all departments and store locations. This role is responsible for supporting the relationships with retail design partners including: architects, manufacturers and third party consultants.

Role Qualifications:
- 4-Year Technical Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design, Construction Management, or related field
- Skilled in AutoCAD and/or Revit technology
- Competent computer skills to effectively perform in the position
- Prior experience with design project management and retail store design
- Extensive knowledge of established construction and maintenance practices, procedures, and techniques as well as applicable local, state, and federal building codes and regulations
Position Responsibilities:

- Adheres to company approved accounting procedures
- Plans and implements all facets of design activities including test fits, renderings, redlining, and reporting for total lifecycle of projects
- Perform detailed CAD drafting and design functions for store design projects
- Tracks progress of each project during pre-construction against goals, objectives, approved budgets, and timelines
- Supports the store design process to maintain the company's customer experience and brand expectations
- Supports internal teams, architects, and suppliers in identifying project risks, developing contingency plans, and implementing action plans to keep projects on timeline
- Oversees the vendor partners during all projects with a forecast of future remodel and new store development to ensure accurate scheduling timelines
- Effectively and professionally interact with customers, vendors, and all Family Express personnel
- Identify risk situations and behavior and take appropriate action
- Prioritize deployment of personnel and assets for greatest productivity
- Maintain a positive attitude and create an atmosphere of teamwork at the store level
- All other duties as assigned

Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
- Work Environment: Must have flexibility to work all shifts, all days of the week, when necessary. Ability to tolerate extreme temperatures for minimum of 30-minute intervals. Exposure to cleaning solvents.
Salary : $46,900 - $59,400
