Family Guidance Centers, Inc. (FGC), a not-for-profit behavioral healthcare organization, treats and prevents substance abuse, as well as an array of other related problems. Essential Duties:
- Provides transportation, case management and coordination of services for patient
- Conducts residential room inspections and monitors completion of patient chores
- Monitors behavioral compliance issues and report concerns and/or noncompliance to the primary counselor and/or Program Manager
- Assists patients to prepare for and obtain employment, housing, whenever appropriate
- Attends and monitors daily meditation
- Provides standby intake assessment and groups
- Provides orientation for new patients
- Assists patients with community resources to obtain medication when necessary
- Conducts weekly house government meetings and coordinates community meetings
- Plans and coordinates sober leisure activities for all patients
- Ensures patients adhere to program regulations and reschedules patients who have missed appointments
- Assists in developing formal and informal community supports
- Assists the person with increasing social support networks of relatives, friends and/or significant others
- Offers encouragement in times of crisis and stress to eliminate potential barriers to one’s ongoing recovery
- Conducts patient screens when necessary (i.e. urine analysis and oral swabs)
- Conducts treatment functions, such as group treatment, group didactic instruction, and individual in support of the primary counselor
- Attends staffing to provide information regarding resident activities, behavior and treatment compliance
- Other duties as assigned
Schedule: Wednesday - Sunday (6:00a - 2:30p)

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field is preferred. . One year of experience in the field of addictions is desired. Candidate must possess working knowledge of chemical dependency, chemical abuse, chemical addiction, 12-step programs, principles of helping, and/or willingness to pursue training.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: IAODAPCA Certified Alcohol and Other Drugs Counselor (CADC) required or able to obtain in two (2) years of hire date.
