Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Project Facilitator, Preferred Spanish - 6021 6th Avenue, Brooklyn.
In this role, the successful candidate The Family Health Centers at NYU Langone's mission is to improve the health of underserved communities by delivering high-quality, culturally competent health care and human services. Recognizing that health depends upon an individual's economic, educational and employment status, FHCs Department of Community-Based Programs offers an extensive continuum of family strengthening and community development programs to address the broader needs of the community, including adult education and workforce development; case management and supportive services; mental health services; early childhood centers; and community service opportunities.
The Job Readiness Project Facilitator will focus on the vocational needs of participants of workforce training programs, providing workforce soft skills development as well as support with internship, apprenticeship and job placement. The position is also responsible for the collection, entry and coordination of data for workforce projects and ensures that data are documented accurately and in a timely manner for reporting purposes.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide data collection, entry and reports for tracking and monitoring progress toward achievement of performance measures for all participants enrolled in workforce trainings.
- Design and conduct workforce readiness workshops
- Support the coordination of workforce development training programs following models such as the I-BEST for English Language Learners. This includes active outreach and recruitment of eligible participants, as well as collaborating with training partner and Instructors.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with internship, apprenticeship and employment partners whose needs and interests align with programming and program participants.
- Screen and place program participants in internships, apprenticeships and job placement.
- Provide one-on-one coaching and small group workshops to participants on professional skills and tools such as resume writing, interviewing techniques, and other job search strategies as well as developing short-term and long-term career goals.
- Support program and job retention by addressing participant's individual life barriers to participation and employment through individual assessment, referral and follow-up for needed services.
- Stay abreast of workforce development at the federal, state and city level.
- Support the preparation of program grant proposals and reports.
- Other special projects as they arise.
Minimum Qualifications:
- To qualify you must have a B.A. required.
- At least one year of experience in workforce readiness or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual Spanish preferred
- Familiarity with Efforts to Outcomes
- Appreciation for the unique needs of participants
- Interest in and awareness of working with culturally, linguistically and economically diverse communities
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Strong Interpersonal skills
- Time management skills are essential with ability to multitask
- Must be a team player
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders including program participants, placement sites,
- workforce partners, partner agencies, businesses and employers
- Demonstrated commitment to a philosophy that is participatory and input oriented, values problem solving, and promotes the development of partnerships
- A willingness to work flexible hours including some evenings and weekends

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $38,808.64 - $51,137.66 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
