Summary: The function of the Patient Admissions and Revenue Cycle Director is to provide leadership, communication, and training to the registration team of Family Emergency Room. The Patient Registration Lead provides continuity during the initial and ongoing training of employees who have responsibility for registering patients accurately as well as following established policy and procedures. Works cooperatively with all Family Emergency Room staff.
Qualifications:
Education: College Degree
Licenses/Certification: Experience with GoRev and EPower Doc systems a plus
Experience: 5 plus years registration experience with emphasis on patient contact and accuracy, or relevant medical customer service experience will be considered, and billing/insurance/authorization experience is a plus.
Essential Functions:
Be able to handle, recruit, oversee, train, and supervise all patient intakes and inquiries
Prepare, conduct, and follow up to ensure understanding of all new hire training and on-going industry and functional job skill training for all registration staff
Create, train, supervise, and implement procedures and interactions with patients that provide a high level of Customer Service so that all patients feel extra special and well cared for by all our staff from the time they walk in the door until the time they leave.
Create registration schedule & ensure 24/7 on call support in case of call ins, back-up for other facilities
Attends monthly leadership meetings
Attends required facility leadership meetings
Updates monthly chart audit report and provides feedback, trends, and actions taken with COO
Keeps accurate weekly list of office supply inventory including but not limited to registration forms
Proficient Computer knowledge and skill
Maintain Efficiency of Records for the facility
Conducts new hire interviews with the Director of Patient Services (and COO for management positions)
Develops, implements, and maintains revenue-generating strategies related to admissions and patient capacity
Determines and implements admissions best-practices, develops and revises admission and discharge processes, and oversees admissions staff
Promotes teamwork and cohesion within department and other departments
Records and reports data related to admissions, discharges, and admission inquiries to senior management
Gathers information about patient satisfaction
Develops departmental and institutional goals, mission, and vision
Manages admissions staff
Manages admissions inquiries
Stays up to date on Company policies and ensures proper dissemination of information and training to staff
Monitors admissions capacity and makes sure it is effectively communicated to clinicians and other personnel
Determines admissions targets and develops relationships within the community to drive admissions numbers.
Stays apprised of federal and state regulations governing capacity, billing, and reimbursement, including Medicaid and Medicare guidelines, as well as Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) standards
Files the quarterly THCIC reports
Holds and attends other meetings as necessary
