In this highly visible and fast-paced role, you will be joining a dynamic Special Education team whose goal it is to provide data-based, effective programming to our students and a collaborative and supportive work environment to all team members!
About this role (2 Positions Available):
- Part-Time Special Educator to run Early Intervention Social Skills Group
- Ratio: 5:1:5 – Each learner is supported with an aide
- Garden City, NY
- Saturdays 9am-11am
Or
- Part-Time Special Educator to run Early Intervention Social Skills Group
- Maximum of 6 children with a support staff available with more than 3 children
- Garden City, NY
- Saturdays 10am-11am
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for programming that supports and grows early learners’ social skills and play skills.
- Utilize ABA methodology to help support learners’ social as well as educational development.
- Create programming to work on generalization from skills in the home to the group setting.
- Ongoing communication with lead supervisors and school team
- Maintain accurate attendance and submit electronic billing on a daily basis
- Knowledge of discrete trial instruction, natural environment teaching, and incidental teaching is a plus
- Attend professional development trainings to maintain best practice approach and continue personal development
- Maintain professionalism with parents, teachers, and other professionals
- Attend CSE meetings

Qualifications:
- NYS Certification B-Grade 2 Certification
- Minimum of (1) year experience working in a setting focusing on supporting children and their families preferred
- Bilingual is a plus
