What are the responsibilities and job description for the SKILL BUILDER position at Family Service League I?
SUMMARY:
Family Service League is seeking a full-time Skill Builder for our Children and Family Treatment and Support Services (CFTSS) initiative, which provides in home services to youth with mental health diagnoses. CFTSS are a set of services designed to help youth and families gain the necessary tools to be successful in their homes and communities.
RESPONSIBILITIES;
• Conduct weekly meetings with youth in their home and community.
• Develop Treatment Plan Goals.
• Help the youth develop skills towards goals identified, focused primarily on activities which will help the child achieve age appropriate tasks and function appropriately within the home and community.
• Engage in a variety of activities with the youth, including discussions, role play, games, and art activities to accomplish these tasks.
• Provide documentation in an electronic health record and regular communication.
• Participate in monthly staff meetings and in team meetings (in person or via phone/video).
• Transport the youth as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma required with at least 2 years experience working with special needs children is required. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Experience working with children with special needs preferred.
Prior knowledge of mental health conditions required.
Excellent interpersonal, engagement and verbal and written communication skills required.
Candidate must possess the ability to be creative and present ideas and skills in a variety of ways.
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office required.
Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
Candidate must possess a valid and clean Driver’s License and have a reliable car.
Availability to work evenings and/or weekends required.
