Function:
The Program Coordinator of Family Services’ SNUG will work with community residents, businesses, community-based organizations, and law enforcement to implement SNUG, a strategic public health strategy to reduce and prevent gun violence in the City of Poughkeepsie. The Program Coordinator facilitates the implementation of the SNUG model and the management of the Poughkeepsie SNUG team by playing a key role in operationalizing the core components of the SNUG approach: the public health approach to violence, community outreach & mobilization, public education, developing relationships with local leaders and community members, and receiving information about gun violence incidents from law enforcement.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field
- 2-3 years of experience in human services field preferred.
- Ability to work irregular/flexible hours.
- The ideal candidate will possess management experience including maintaining budgets, regular report writing, documentation
- Position requires significant supervisory experience.
- The successful candidate will have the ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written required.
- Candidate must have excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Possess valid driver’s license.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Outreach Worker Supervisor, Senior Outreach Worker, 3 Outreach Workers, and 1 Hospital Responder.
- Provide overall direction and guidance to all staff working in SNUG so that participants and the community receive timely, appropriate services.
- Conduct regular staff meetings, weekly individual staff supervisions, and provide ongoing evaluation and support of staff.
- Ensure all SNUG staff understand travel procedures and fiscal compliance procedures.
Coordination Responsibilities:
- Complete all administrative tasks as assigned on a timely basis, including but not limited to documenting all activities, preparing weekly and monthly activity reports, and inputting and maintaining up-to-date database records.
- Maintain statistics, update participant information, and prepare reports as needed.
- Serve as a liaison with the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department.
- Maintain active and ongoing communication with supervisor and participate in weekly one on one supervision.
- Responsible for oversight and/or development of advertisement/marketing materials.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with the primary program funder, NYS Division of Criminal Justice Services
- Meet with SNUG participants in person and via different platforms as prescribed by the SNUG workplan.
- Evaluate and advocate for emergency assistance to victims as needed.
- Provide community outreach through presentations and tabling events.
- Mobilize the community to engage in activities that will help change thinking and norms, so that shooting and killing is no longer an acceptable behavior.
- Create alternatives for those currently at highest risk for shooting someone or being shot.
- Plan and facilitate SNUG Shooting Responses in Poughkeepsie within 72 hours of an incident.
- Assist Outreach Worker Staff with canvassing the target area within the City of Poughkeepsie.
- Plan, oversee, and participate in Community Events and SNUG Participant Events monthly.
- Develop relationships with local service providers and program partners, including law enforcement, faith leaders, and community leaders/stakeholders to identify and access resources.
- Act as liaison for the SNUG Community Committee to participate in hiring for SNUG staff openings, and other tasks as assigned.
- Participate in coalition meetings/community-based organization meetings that address public safety and violence prevention.
- Participate in ongoing approved trainings, including funder mandated trainings.
- Assist with fundraisers and special events (some of these may be outside agency hours of operation).
- Work in collaboration with the SNUG Social Worker and Case Manager to ensure Social Work and Case Management services align with Outreach Services to achieve overall goals of the SNUG program.
- Work collaboratively with Family Services’ Teen Resource Activity Center staff to ensure TRAC and SNUG program alignment is effective, efficient, and meets needs of both program and participants. Provide guidance to TRAC Youth Outreach workers as needed to ensure risk assessment and vulnerable youth participant engagement is in line with best practices in the SNUG program.
- Other duties as assigned based upon needs of the program.

Other Requirements:
- Flexible hours and can travel to different sites, attend community meetings, community partner offices, and out of area trainings as scheduled.
- Schedule may be adjusted to meet program needs, based on written Supervisor approval.
- Established cell phone and willing to use for work with effective coverage for Dutchess County (will be reimbursed). Must be reachable outside of office hours if needed.
- Strong computer skills, particularly with the Microsoft Office suite.
Work Environment – This position is housed in the Family Partnership Center in Poughkeepsie. Regular local travel is required.

Salary : $50,000 - $57,000
