Description
Paraprofessionals assist families with the skill and resource development necessary to safely maintain children in their home. Paraprofessionals provide a host of in-home services, and facilitate linkages to various community resources for children, adolescents, and their parents/guardians. Duties &
Responsibilities
- Serve as a liaison between family and other professionals providing services to the family
- Perform in-home supervised visitation services between a non-custodial parent and his or her child
* Transport children and adolescents to and from services
- Provide parent aide services and case management assistance to families in completing the defined goals and steps of their Case Plan
- Conduct drug screens (hair, urine, oral swab & sweat patch)
- Support the child, adolescent, and/or family, which could include writing reports for and attending court proceedings, panel reviews and/or school meetings
- Create and submit clear documentation of all services provided to child and/or family, including: Progress notes, termination reports, and updated service goals/plans to promote supervisory review and feedback o Documents all work and submits notes within 72 hours of consumer visit or cancelled appointment, and requests additional authorization in a timely manner to avoid service disruption
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or other human services field; and appropriate training, certification, or credentials
- Three or more years of experience working as a Community Support Individual, Paraprofessional or Case Manager in homes, schools, or the community
- Documented experience working with at-risk children, adolescents, and families
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Demonstrated knowledge of and sensitivity to diverse cultures
- Flexible work schedule, including the ability to work evenings and weekends
- Laptop, valid Georgia driver’s license, vehicle and ability to travel off site
- Bilingual (fluent in Spanish and English) is a plus
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
