Commercial Loan Documentation Manager

SUMMARY: Responsible for the overall operations management and oversight of the commercial loan documentation staff.  Ensure all loans are efficiently processed, documented, funded and perfected in accordance with Bank Policies, underwriting guidelines and regulatory guidelines.  Works closely with Lenders, Branch Managers as well as internal and external customers to promote communication and to ensure quality service.    

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to the following:

• Responsible for managing the Commercial Loan Documentation department
• Manage the ongoing training, coaching and development of the Loan Documentation Specialists while leading by positive example
• Recommend performance metrics for speed, quality and efficiency. Manage team to achieve department goals and periodically review and recommend adjustment to these goals.
• Develop, maintain and manage work flow for all stages of the commercial loan process from commitment letters, document preparation, processing, closing and post-closing functions.
• Provide final authority on issues that are clearly stated in bank policy and participate in decision making process with Commercial Loan Operations Manager
• Serve as liaison with outside legal counsel for loan document preparation by law firms
• Prepare complex loan documentation and/or provide guidance to Loan Documentation Specialists preparing complex loan documentation
• Ensure accuracy of loan documentation for all commercial loans
• Review all Laser Pro updates and ensure templates are current within the Laser Pro system.
• Review all collateral, guaranties and loan agreements prior to release
• Provide mentoring and training to Commercial Lenders, Credit Analysts, Branch Managers and Commercial Loan Assistants as it relates to loan structure, legal documents, proper legal documentation verbiage.
• Complete all mandatory and elective training, including BSA (Bank Secrecy Act) and Anti-Money Laundering procedures. Maintain compliance with all appropriate rules and regulations.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelors Degree in English, Law or Business Management or equivalent combination of education and work experience
• Minimum of seven (7) years experience in loan documentation
• Minimum of five (5) years supervisory experience involving the coaching and development of peers/subordinates
• Must possess advanced computer skills and knowledge, specifically loan documentation software, Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet navigation/research, and Outlook
• Ability to clearly and effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
• Proven ability to handle difficult and confidential client interactions
• Experience with Laser Pro
